Bruno Souza de Lima was born in Sao Paulo on 24/05/83. Even as a young lad, Bruno enjoyed experimental and/or underground music.
In 97, he took a strong interest in what was happening in the electronic music scene. In particular, the styles of drum n'bass and techno.
During that time, Bruno had no desire to either play or produce electronic music. He was perfectly happy just going to the parties and having a great time.
In those days, the electronic dance scene in Brazil was rather new and undeveloped. The parties, usually, didn't cater to one particular style/genre. These "raves" consisted of several tents, each with a different genre.
It was in one of these parties, that Bruno discovered psy trance. Ever since that day, this was the sound that "flowed from his veins".
In 2000, Bruno moved to Rio where he met several friends and djs from the trance scene. Soon after, he became a dj himself and at the end of 2001 began to venture into music production. His vast knowledge of computers and technology greatly facilitated this endeavor.
In the early part of 2003, Bruno started a dark full on project with dj Zhyin called ZHYIN & ECHOES. Their music was not of a professional standard due to their lack of experience and production skills. Later that year, they changed their name to MINIMAL CRIMINAL and began producing the darker minimal/progressive psy sound.
After befriending other djs of several different genres of electronic music, Dj Echoes began to appreciate the more "housey" type of sound. Together with some friends, he started the project PORNSTAR in 2005.
Dj Echoes has played in several parties and festivals throughout Brazil alongside many big names from the trance scene. His dj sets are strongly influenced by the Australian minimal/progressive style, usually, staying somewhere between 137 to 141 bpms.
Projects such as SENSIENT, KRUMELUR, TRIPLEX, TETRAMETH, SHADOW FX, and SUN CONTROL SPECIES are among his top 10 list.
